A mix here of cheap and nasty and some prosthetic effects.
For the brain I Plasticine sculpted the top half of a brain, plaster cast this then filled with a mix of my latex and cotton wool.
The flayed look was very cheap, tissue paper and red and black food dye and golden syrup.

The boils were done in a similar manner to the brain, from the pirate eye effect.
There was supposed to be a blood dripped effects but the cheap synthetic overall made the syrup spread thin and soak into the material leaving the whole thing pink instead of a stream of clotted blood. Very uncomfortable.
The pus in the boils is custard with green food dye.
I tried to do the syrup and some glued cotton wool on rubber gloves but it did not stick.
