Prop Tarantula Proposed
Further Development
Fur and Surface
Project to be Put in Ice Due to Time and Cost But on Future Planning Board
There is a point in time to call it quits due to going insanely over time and over budget. This project is at least 10 times over budget and any attempts to perfect it is likely to cost £100s more so given there is something workable it will be put on ice.
What was planned as problem solving and improvements can be seen in the further development section tabs. These are rough as the idea is to put an end to the project but you should be able to see how various issues could be dealt with without major rebuilds or CAD etc.
Areas to Improve at a Later Date
The areas put on ice due to cost but could be looked at in future animal props or continuation of this project include:
- Head
- Body
- Legs
- Surface Skin and Fur
- Out of these the most likely improvements I could look into would include the furring up of the spider as have much of the materials already and looks the most doable as not actually altering the spider, especially if applying a removable fur coat costume.
- Replacement 3d printed or possible a form of moulded connectors especially those supporting the connection to the body could be redesigned and possible a way to mould and cast them for rapid replacement could be looked into.
- The legs really have to be constructed from scratch with 3rd party professionally made joints and that would require at least 30 of them so that is totally out due to likely cost.
